Stop Making Excuses!

If you want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.

Is there something that you want to do?

Do you want to change how you feel about something?

Do you want a new Job?

Do you want to start your own business?

Do you want to lose weight?

Do you want to eat healthily?

Do you want to get fit?

Do you want in (or out of) a relationship?

Then,

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

If you were waiting for a sign, that was it, the one at the top of the page.

Start by making a plan.

Write down what you want to achieve. Then break that down into goals. The first goal should be something you can achieve today. The next goal may take a little longer, maybe a day or two. The one after that should be achievable by the end of the week.

Make your goals S.M.A.R.T.

S – Specific. Don’t be wishy washy about it. If you want to lose weight, start with exactly what you are going to eat (and not eat) for lunch or dinner.

M – Measurable. This is part of being specific. If your goal is to eat no more than 1000 calories for dinner – measure it. If you want to lose weight – how much?

A – Achievable. Part of succeeding is making sure you are not setting yourself impossible goals that doom you to failure. Make sure you can achieve the goals you set for yourself.

R – Realistic. In some ways this is similar to achievable – by making your goals realistic, you have much more chance of succeeding at them and moving forward to achieve your end goal.

T – Timescaled. If you want to lose weight – when do you want to lose it by. Set yourself weekly goals, monthly goals and have a timescale for when you want to have achieved your overall goal. This will keep you on track and motivated.

So, grab yourself a pen and some paper and draw up a plan.

Go on, what have you got to lose?
